AG. VICE-CHANCELLOR TOURS UNIVERSITY UNITS, HARPS ON COOPERATION AND COMMITMENT
As
part of efforts to get well acquainted with various units, departments
and staff members of the University, the newly appointed Acting
Vice-Chancellor of Landmark University, Professor Joseph O. Afolayan,
paid familiarization visits to different sections and arms of the
institution between 12th and 15th of August, 2014.
Accompanied
by the Registrar, Pastor (Dr.) John Izebere, Professor Afolayan
extolled the diligence, cooperation, sacrifice and passion which the
staff members exhibit in discharging their duties, culminating in the
enviable heights attained by the University in less than four years of
its existence.
In
his words, “the laudable achievements and giant strides that this
University has recorded in very few years would not have been possible
without the cooperation, diligence and sacrifice of staff members – both
teaching and non-teaching. I am thus here to thank you for the
unreserved cooperation and support you have given to the leadership over
the last four years, and to ask for even more as we build on the
success attained so far.”
Speaking
on the focus of the familiarization tour, the Registrar, Pastor (Dr.)
Izebere enumerated three major goals – to interact and get acquainted
with staff of the various units and departments of the institution;
understand their modus operandi, challenges, prospects and projections
for the new academic session; and solicit their unwavering support as he
(Professor Afolayan) assumes mantle of leadership.
The
interactive sessions provided staff members of the different units a
good platform to bare their minds on various issues and brainstorm on
ideas that will further embolden and bolster the University’s drive to
ignite an agrarian revolution and raise committed solution thinkers that
will unearth the country’s treasures and put them to judicious use for
the benefit of all.
