While briefing the gathering on the purpose of the visit, the Director Financial Services, Pst. Moses Olajide stated that it was a delight for the team to be at Olomu’s palace for familiarization. This becomes expedient because of the appointment of the Ag. VC and Registrar, Dr. Rotimi Daniel.
The Ag. To the VC, coming to Landmark University was home coming. He further appreciated the Kabiyesi for the support he has giving to the University since inception, adding that the town and gown relationship the community had with the university has been cordial. In describing how serene the community was, he reiterated that, student and staff feel at home in Omu-Aran and that was why many were still applying to join the university.
In his reaction, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, said that Omu-Aran as a community cannot be in isolation, just as the university cannot, adding that both needed to work together for the progress of the community. He also highlighted the contributions of the university to the community in terms economy, road maintenance, medical facilities etc. while promising to always support the new management of the University, he stated that the community would not fail in its effort to assist the university in whatever way it can, whenever it is called upon.
The Registrar, while giving the vote of thanks, said that it was the crown that makes the town and gown relationship cordial. He appreciated the Olomu for all his support, most especially the recent one that bordered on Students’ Transportation Scheme. He however prayed that through the university, the community would make a mark in record time.
